Paris Paralympics Festival
A Paralympic Festival to Enjoy and Cheer Together
The Paris Paralympic Festival was an interactive event designed ahead of the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games to broaden public interest in para sports and encourage everyone to participate and cheer together. Programs such as a wheelchair basketball tournament, adaptive sports experience zones, and cheering activities transformed the event from passive viewing into an engaging festival. Participatory elements including a photo booth, coloring wall, and stamp tour allowed each visitor’s experience to be recorded and connected as part of a shared message of support.

Space Design
Held at Sebitseom on the Banpo Hangang Park, the event was planned so that visitors could move naturally through each experience zone and activity area. Posters, environmental graphics, signage, and interactive content were designed under a unified visual system to create a consistent experience. Information and wayfinding were clearly organized to make participation intuitive, while the overall space conveyed the energy and spirit of the Paralympic Games.

Experience Zone
The basketball and football experience zones were designed as hands-on programs that allowed visitors to experience adaptive sports firsthand. Participants used wheelchairs or wore blindfolds to limit their vision, then relied on sound and touch to locate the ball and move toward the goal. By engaging under unfamiliar conditions, visitors were able to understand how para athletes play and gain a deeper appreciation for their skills and abilities.

Photo Booth
The cheering photo booth was designed to be easily accessible for wheelchair users and young children. With a lower backdrop height and a variety of props, visitors could create their own compositions and take photographs freely. Two instant photos were provided: one to keep and one to write a message of support for the national team. These messages were displayed on-site, and the activity naturally connected to the stamp tour as part of the overall event experience.

Coloring Wall
The coloring wall was created as an activity that anyone could join without hesitation. Visitors colored characters inspired by the Paris Paralympics, making participation both simple and enjoyable. The completed artworks were displayed prominently near the basketball stage, visually expanding the atmosphere of support throughout the venue. As more drawings were added, they accumulated into a collective cheering message and became part of the space itself.

Goods
A variety of goods were designed to connect the overall experience of the 2024 Paris Paralympic Festival. The stamp tour map served as a guide to the venue and its programs, while the festival passport introduced each activity and allowed visitors to collect stamps as part of the experience. Additional items such as keyrings, balloons, and face painting encouraged visitors to cheer for the athletes and helped turn their time at the festival into lasting memories.
